There are more pastries to try at the Tribeca coffee shop by the Valdez Center. I chanced upon their monstrous slices of fine oatmeal cookies and brownies during the holidays, but they were not available when I last went, so my date and I shared a slice of New York cheesecake and an espresso walnut muffin. Better shared with someone, their homemade muffins are big and dense. The cheesecake was a tad too sweet for my taste, but the texture was good.
Tribeca doesn’t scrimp on ingredients. It is probably one of the reasons loyal patrons keep going back.

In Italy, it’s so okay to name a dish ‘whore’s spaghetti,’ but if we translate it in Filipino, it sounds rather crass. Anyway, the best al dente spaghetti with piquant sugo alla puttanesca I’ve had in Ilocos is made by Tribeca, the corner coffeeshop in 365 Mall, San Nicolas. The pasta with tomato and olive oil-based sauce made with anchovies, capers, chili, garlic, onions and other spices is mouthwatering that Brandon craves for it every so often. We usually end up going with him.
Their advantage, I should say — they don’t scrimp on ingredients.
Tribeca’s strawberry cheesecake is also unparalleled.
