Quick Yummy Taco Recipe

This taco recipe is inspired by the traditional Mexican fare. Lynne, my cook, uses homegrown veggies, and pre-made flour taco shells available at the local grocer. Instead of lettuce, which is quite expensive in Ilocos, she uses cabbage. The result, almost like store-bought tacos.


  • ground beef
  • cabbage, shredded
  • tomatoes, diced
  • onions. chopped
  • Cheddar cheese or processed filled cheese, grated
  • taco shells
  • hot sauce (optional)


  • Sauté beef in a skillet, and add salt and pepper according to your taste. Set aside
  • Fill a shell with a spoonful of beef, add a layer of tomatoes, some onions, cabbage, and lastly cheese. Serve with hot sauce.

I suggest this neat recipe if you’re having impromptu visitors at home. The whole family will love this dish, as well.
