A whole lotta sunshine

sunflower

I almost failed to photograph these sunflowers. Saw them on the road before Easter. They were turning their backs when I went today. Quirky flowers.

Bearing the brunt of the sun’s heat, the others were on the brink of dehydration. It’s actually the first time I see sunflowers in the north. Cheery and bright, such lovely subjects.

Summer Smiles

Must-do: nature photography.

New discovery: yummy, crunchy, wafer-thin Oatmeal cookies made by the Benguet State University Bakeshop — pasalubong from Bobot Fongwan, recent Ilocos visitor from the Strawberry Capital of  the Philippines, La Trinidad.

In constant use: reusable natural cotton Green Hawai’i  bag and insulated Starbucks tumbler from my cuz May.

Pick-me-up food: 55-peso Gummy Tamarind and Plum from Enrico’s.

In the shower: Dove Beauty Wash in moisturizing cucumber and green tea and energizing grapefruit and lemongrass. Fruity freshness!

Lost and found: old woven abaca structured tote with raffia and bead “under the sea” embellishments.

Lost and found, too: a long strand of cheap beads worn as bracelets. Bought them in Vigan a decade ago.

Sighted: John Lloyd Cruz on Vantage, Mark Nicdao’s new photo book. Ivon Domingo’s attention- grabbing book was on the dining table☺

From the kitchen: homemade corndogs for the entire family!
