Hitching on the Snoe bandwagon

Snoe White Special Black Beauty Bar

I’m settling the conclusion to my Awesome Poresome retexturizing polish review in these yet two more Snoe product reviews. I like to use the scrub on days when I feel my pores are congested with makeup plus grime. Used it daily on my last trip to Manila and sensed it helped combat aggression like I got less of the breakouts that are typical when my system gets perturbed while traveling to highly urbanized cities.

About the retexturizing claim, I haven’t seen it yet, so I added the cult Snoe Special Black Beauty Bar to use more often. The black soap is loaded with AHAs for cell renewal, whitening stuff like arbutin and high in beta-carotene tomato extract (reminding me of Burt’s Bees tomato soap).

On first use, there was mild stinging, but with no redness, which means my sensitive skin might be liking it so I’ve been using it like 3 days now. As of late, the skin is somewhat brighter, the acne marks are lighter, and the nose area is starting to peel finely, I’ll  let you know if there’s significant improvement after finishing the entire bar.

Snoe Let it B Wasa B

I’m now officially BB-fied:)

The phenomenal Korean BB (as in beauty balm or blemish balm) cream is the proverbial virus that has attacked all the major cosmetic companies in the world. It’s the new tinted moisturizer, the new foundation, the new concealer, the new base, the new sunblock, all rolled into this one beautifying product.  The BB formula originally started as a dermatologist-prescribed product for laser patients in Europe. Now there are also CC creams to control and correct, color and conceal, whatever they do in the name of beauty.

BlauEarth reader Camille mentioned Snoe BB cream. When I checked the only local Snoe outlet, Red Dot, BB creams actually come in many formulations. I was more intrigued by the anti-oxidant properties of wasabi in Snoe’s Let it B with WasaB, which is, as Snoe claims, a potent mixture of calcium, vitamin C, potassium, antimicrobial properties and more for promoting oxygenation of cellular tissues as well as strengthening skin’s defenses against free radical damage, plus an SPF of 30++.

I picked Vanilla Cream over Perfect Beige and Warm Honey (the darkest shade). Snoe is an all-Filipino beauty company, so I surmise it must be suitable for Filipino skin. I was scared Vanilla Cream looked so much lighter, with a hint of pinky glow, when I tested it at home. Layered under a very light dusting of MAC Studio Finish powder NC35, the gleam was diffused while creating a radiant, even demi-matte finish. It photographs well, imo. Wore it here, the shade blended in, no visible demarcation line. The consistency is frightfully thick, yet was pain-free to apply. I think I felt a strange slight warmth on the face, yayay, it must be wasabi heat.

Hope in Some Awesome Poresome

Awesome Poresome

If you’re blessed with plus-size pores, it’s a constant struggle to keep it at bay. My skin is overly sensitive, so I’ve streamlined my facial routine to sugar scrub with my favorite soap to slough off. I might have found the promise of a rose in Snoe Awesome Poresome which is among the cleverly packaged products from an all-Filipino company that’s creating a fizz among beauty junkies. The microdermabrasion retexturising polish is made from a recipe of natural pineapple extract rich in alpha hydroxy acids, declogging witch hazel, azeloglicina (a combination of acne-clearing azelaic acid and glycine) and tiny beads to accelerate the purifying process of choked pores. It performs like the super expensive microdermabrasion product from Prescriptives, though this one is creamy and the beads feel beneficial without giving off a scratchy sensation. So far, I’m liking the fresh and clean feeling after the initial experience. Makeup stayed on better and the face apparently was not at its usual greasy state. At the end of the day, bumps on my chin simply dried out. Let’s go back to Awesome Poresome after a month or so of straight use. Alert: it can be stinging on the eyes if the product is not rinsed off  properly.
