Paint me a rainbow in Adams

Sunrise

The sun endearingly lit up our Sunday roadtrip to the bucolic little town named Adams nestled in the northern end of the Cordillera Mountain Range. Yes, with a sigh of relief, there’s still such a sylvan habitat in Ilocos, and my homies immersed in the quiet elegance of nature. Peace on earth!

Nueva Vizcaya Photo Diary: Fairytales do come true

Highlander Resort and Hotel, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya

Weekend motoring along Maharlika Highway in northeastern Philippines is like putting one’s feet up — soft, blithe and hassle-free. I wasn’t expecting anything like an English castle in the Cagayan Valley countryside. In Solano, situated along lush rolling hills and verdant rice paddies in the landlocked province of Nueva Vizcaya, is the castle-like Highlander Hotel and Resort owned by Filipino Arlene Gregorio Highlands, who’s married to a British shipyard owner. A scaled-down ship in the likeness of the Highlands’ ship welcomes guests at the lobby entrance.

Ilocos Norte: Like you’ve never seen before

Time and Tide

I took a gazillion photos over the weekend– all within Saturday. I don’t even know where to start. Checked-in at Casa Consuelo in Pagudpud with my bestie Leehiua Lu, who was spending her birthday in Adams, a town in the northeastern side of Norte. Let’s start with the travel magazine kind of photos:) This is what happens when two besties travel on an SUV all by themselves. Will be posting more in the days to follow. So proud of the place I call  home — Ilocos Norte! In my more than three years of blogging, I’ve scratched only the surface.
