Lippie Review: Tom Ford Forbidden Pink

Tom Ford Forbidden Pink Lip Color

It was the high reviews that yanked me to my first Tom Ford lip color. In the same vein as Armani is the most obsessed foundation, Tom Ford lipsticks flirt in women’s dreams. I can see why after lingering at Vanity Play. Never veering away from his aesthetics, Tom’s palette revolves on women’s inclinations. Very basic to the point that a woman would desire to own the faultless color range.

Tom Ford Forbidden Pink

Why Forbidden Pink? It’s the kind of pink with the right balance of warmth to enhance everyday lips. If I’m going to spend on something like a Tom Ford lipstick, I’d better be able to wear it anytime, anywhere.

Tom Ford Lip Color

If rare and exotic ingredients such as soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil have got something to do with the unparalleled texture and finish, they do swimmingly. The feel is unbelievably like nothing on. Color is true to the block, never changes hues all throughout a greasy dinner (photos below). It’s quite .matte with a trace of luminance. It’s on the lips for hours, yet never depletes moisture for the unabbreviated dream

In the Pink: Dior Rosy Glow and Lip Glow

Vanity

Ericke flew in from LA the other day for a brief 2-week vacation and she got me Dior Rosy Glow for the cheeks and Dior Addict Lip Glow at the Bradley Airport Duty Free Shop, saving much than if she purchased them online or from a Dior counter in the mall.

Both feature Fresh Color Revival technology said to make them adjust to the chemistry of the skin to make it blush with radiance, so the color you get is a made-to-measure kind of healthy flush, all your own. Sounds gimmicky. For one, they don’t say how these glow products work exactly. But they are both pink and attractive that you’d want to believe pink and pretty. The blush is supposed to recreate a pinched-cheek tint, and the lip balm to enhance the natural lip color.

From the container, the blush looks bright and harsh, but surprisingly it turns out differently when applied, natural with just a light swipe. Perhaps because I’m medium toned, I got a sultry kind of pink on the cool side. It’s matte, and it stays on the whole day.  The subtle rose scent is classy. I’m not too fond of fancy and bulky packaging, so the luxe casing doesn’t really matter much to me for as long as it’s sturdy.

Dior Addict Lip Glow

The lip balm is much better than ordinary lip balms, not waxy, looks like gel almost, and the vanilla scent is dainty enough to eat. It’s not too glossy either. A pricey lip balm, but because it’s moisturizing, feels luxurious on the lips, the tube is cute and girly and the effect lingers long, I can pretend not to be bothered by the price. If it gave a little more color than the nude pink I got, it would be the most perfect lip balm.

You have to wait a little before glow blush and balm show significant color.

On Alexa, it’s a brighter pink:)

Before Ericke left for LA in February, she had a hair job at David’s and was able to wait for her next appointment at the same salon, with the same stylist, Yna. Haircut is way lot cheaper in the Philippines that you can afford to have a trim everyday. I’m not joking, there’s even a less than a dollar haircut with blow-dry.

The Nail Lounge Gel Manicure, MeMeMe Coral Cloak Lips and Buzzed Hair

EzFlow TruGel Fairy-Pairy-Winkle

Hey, girls! The Nail Lounge in Laoag has gel manicure. Manang Biday is on trend, ha! Found time this afternoon to see my fave nail artists Queenie and Maricel. You should reserve at least 2 hours for this indulgence ‘coz it entails 2-minute curing with UV lamp after every coat, which is 5 coats of color during the entire color process.

EzFlow TruGel Polish

I fancied the crayola periwinkle, named Fairy-Pairy-Winkle, which brings back childhood memories. According to those who’ve tried it, gel polish is chip-resistant and outlasts the time of (obvious) nail growth. As for now, I like the shiny finish. Pricey, but it’s the price of 3 regular manicures, so it’s not that expensive, on second thought. They have a special color remover for the gel manicure, but they advise you to give your nails a rest, about one week in between manicures.

I’ve started writing about something on reliable names in the beauty department in Ilocos. Not yet complete ‘coz I want to try for myself all the suggestions from friends in Facebook.

I put on the MeMeMe Long Wear Satin Lip Cream in Coral Cloak I bought earlier this month. It looks exactly like the color in the box, a coral, leaning more towards orange that screams retro. The British drugstore lipstick looks pretty expensive. It comes in a box with a Greek goddess on it. The tube itself is lovely. The lipstick is enriched with vitamin E and shea butter, which actually keep the lips soft. It’s very creamy and fairly pigmented, but the excess shine bothers me a little. It lasts quite long.  After dinner, I went out without retouching and the stain looked nice. I think I want to just dab it in the lips when I use it again.

Have I told you I cut my own hair? Except the back, of course, when it’s as short as this. A barber does it for me.

Have a happy Sunday, everyone!
