Lippie Review: NYX Matte Angel

NYX Matte Angel

Last week was frenetic. Having to wake up early in the morning is the hardest thing to do. On the first day of my search and rescue proficiency training, the need for a pick-me-up drew me to test the NYX Matte lipstick in Angel I picked at Red Dot. I’m loving NYX’s packaging which shows the color, lessening makeup time by a couple of minutes if you’re a packrat. Not to mention the on-trend colors and affordable pricing.

NYX describes Angel as a cardinal red, but actually looks more pink from the tube, the shade of cherub lips. On my lips, it’s more like ripened pink papaya in daylight and changes to a rich coral in indoor light. I liked the healthy flush it gives, allowing me to skip the eye makeup. It’s on the bright side, though not atrociously loud. With my my pixie ‘do and manly uniform, I felt ladylike.

NYX Matte AngelThank God for mirrors!

Thank God for mirrors! That was when I escaped from class to catch the wedding expo. Some reviewers have issues with its lasting power. As for me, I didn’t have time to reapply and I looked fine in my SAR closing ceremony photos taken later in the evening.

If you haven’t noticed, the lipstick is made in Taiwan. The quality is comparable to more established brands. Without lip balm or primer, the lips stayed comfortable all day, even out in the sun.

The Dichotomy of the Bran Do

I just want to share with you the dichotomy of the Bran Do:) He wanted the hair of Johnny Cash and Larry of David’s did just fine taming his mop:) Posting my MAC Temperature Rising Feel My Pulse review next.
