To celebrate the 10th year of Make Your Own Havaianas, our favorite flip-flop brand is all set for the biggest customization ever. It’s a nationwide luau celebration from May 7th to the 10th! Flash the shaka! In Ilocos, Robinsons Ilocos Norte Activity Center will be echoing the warm air of Aloha Hawaii. Aloha hula girls, ukeleles, tikis and pineapples!

MYOH 2013: Sand on my feet

MYOH2013 Limited Edition Sandboarding Pin

Finally, I’m sporting my own newly customized Havaianas:) Simmering down, albeit temporarily, from a month of agitation, grief, surprises, drama, panic attacks before facing another situation that’s  so awkward and alien to me. Will talk about it soon.

It was dizzying, promise! I brought home four unique pairs for four different people. As expected I got an earth-colored sole with a blau strap:) Brandon is the kickass fashion consultant, taking the place of kitschy Ericke. I respect his taste ‘coz he blends in what I like with his own opinion of what a girl should own. I nicknamed my Havaianas LEAD —  an owl… sandboarding… love for Ilocos… a state of mind.

If you want girly colors, they have, neon, check, charm pins, check, gold pins, check, crystals, check.

Catch the MYOH2013 at the Robinsons Ilocos Norte. It’s there til Sunday.

Make Your Own Havaianas Press Launch

Java Hotel

For the launch of the mini Make Your Own Havaianas this May, living up to the breezy culture of Hawaii and the serene, the inspiration behind the creation of the stylish Brazilian rubber flip-flops, Havaianas gathered an eclectic bunch in a fashionable luau at the befiiting Java Hotel poolside.

Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH) allows you to customize your own Havaianas, which means you can fashion your soles and straps as you wish and embellish them with pins like the limited edition Ilocos pins in the photo below.

Me-Ann was happy to announce that Ilocos consistently makes the three top-selling  Havaianas areas in the country. She thought of the Ilocos pins featuring the iconic tourism products of the North to highlight the always summer lifestyle and what’s there to see and do in Ilocos.
