Pillow Talk

The Leo in me has a problem being overly loyal to things I’ve tried and liked, like I’ve had just a couple of nude lipsticks that I truly like and wear every day. Among them are MAC Mehr and Mocha. By accident, I found myself testing a handful of different shades at the Charlotte Tilbury makeup counter. I think I was trying to look for a pink that wasn’t Barbie-ish at that time. I ended up buying a few tubes — My Hot Lips in Secret Salma (a dupe for Mehr actually), K.I.S.S.I.N.G. in Stoned Rose (a very beautiful neutral shade and also a favorite), and Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk, a MLBB that sells out fast, plus Pillow Talk Lip Cheat lip liner that’s pretty versatile.

Wearing Pillow Talk in the photo below. Don’t you think it’s sweet? Light, but not washed out, pink, but neutral, and it’s not at all that impossibly dry matte that ruins the purpose of a MLBB.

On the expensive side, but, in my opinion, worth every penny you pay for, these lippies are nicely pigmented, leave the lips looking plumper and healthier, and shades are sophisticated. I actually got Walk of Shame, too, for special occasions, kinda dramatic and more festive, but still can be worn everyday.

John Lloyd Cruz

I think I’ve found a way to answer your questions about my proclivity towards man things. Take a look above. Do you recognize the man with a red Balenciaga clutch?

Husband Shirt

Men’s fashion is my go-to. Brandon and Eugene don’t mind sharing with me their shirts that’s why I love them more. I don’t know if my present fetish with glammed up lips has something to do with my buzzed sides.

Kate Spade lipstick

I just hate how Vanity Play keeps on adding new names. Kate Spade Supercalifragilipstick Peach Snaps is my kind of perfect peach. Kate’s lipstick line, btw, is a collaboration with Australia’s lipstick queen, Poppy King, It glides on like a dream. The case click-locks safely.

I haven’t even checked all the Tom Fords.

Well, John Lloyd Cruz just topped my list of the manliest man alive! I wonder what woman item is he going to wear next?

Lippie Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 16

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 16

Here’s what I meant when I said in the previous post that the Lasting Finish Lipstick 16 by Kate (Moss) with London high street brand Rimmel is more pink than what I expected to be a coral nude. It must be the warm lighting inside Red Dot’s Vanity Play.

The London look…

Kate Moss says, “Whilst I’ll always have my favourite timeless shades, I love to update my lipstick to reflect the new season’s style. I wanted to play with fresh and daring colour to create a look that’s fun and feminine but with an edge.”

On the lips. 16 appeared like pink grapefruit. (Sorry for the hurried mirror shot inside Vanity Play.) Just to show you how it would look like beside other bright pinks, I swatched it together with 2 MAC pinks I own. They more or less looked alike from the tube, but when applied, the disparities show. Rimmel Lasting Finish 16 is less intense than MAC Viva Glam Nicki and more dense, more bright, a tad darker and slightly pinker than MAC Sunny Seoul.

It’s a warm mid-pink with light coral undertones, something pretty for sunny days. The advert says it is infused with light-reflecting black diamond for added depth and intensity. It has a nice opaque texture with a light sheen, though I haven’t worn it long enough to test the 8-hour claim. For a drugstore brand, color payoff is good. The tight-lock casing impresses me.

I still have to test Mememe and Sleek True Color Matte lipsticks before I review another sheeny Sleek lippie. Blame it on the rainy day mood. Sue me now!
