My Uncle Neil and Auntie Adelfa welcomed me at their beautiful home in Sparks in the Reno area. Reno is known for casinos. Though smaller than Vegas, it is a wonderful place to dine (all you can eat Alaskan king crabs and oysters!), and play slots if you like the thrill of jumpy situations. My uncle drove us to Lake Tahoe the next day. It was a 45-minute drive up in the hills. We passed by historic cowboy town Carson City. The weather was gorgeous — sunny but not too warm. It could be my next home. I love the low-pressureness of the place — nature abounds, they have the four seasons, it’s quiet, the cost of living is noticeably lower, and my Auntie Adelfa, who likes shopping, brought me to places like Dillard’s and Kohl’s, and we found great steals (2-dollar Lauren Conrad pineapple-print thongs, hahah!). This trip actually made me certain of the many opportunities in America and still enjoy life that’s unhurried with clean air and a peaceful existence. I’m not so used to metropolitan cities, so I’m considering Reno as a potential home base. Reno has a little of everything.
Thanking the Roses for bringing me to Reno and the love and care.
