Pagudpud Day Out

Kingfisher Beach

Before posting a few photos from Samantha’s birthday blowout, here are the last from their heritage tour, as in roots tour, with yours truly, their lone cousin on the Abad side who lives in Norte. I always know where to take them. We love the same things as a matter of fact. Tony, their nephew, liked hanging out with us. In fact, he got super stoked about the Laoag Sand Dunes sand adventure, considers it among his top 10 best experiences in life ever, and I’m stoked as well. Thanks, Tony.

Brought them to my favorite spot in Pagudpud. You can quote me on that — Kingfisher Beach — bliss in seclusion. We had tuna kilawen and the boys were so happy with their double-patty cheeseburgers.

May loved BergBlick’s pancit bihon from their last visit a couple of years ago, so she asked to be taken there again. Check out the last photos, hahah, live a little.

Oh, thanks to Andrew as well!

Pagudpud Beach Rules

Surf Sunday

A summer’s day in December. From Kapuluan Vista Resort to Kingfisher in Capirispisan, two worlds apart divided by pursuits. If surfing is your thing, KVR rules. Boards and instructors won’t be a point of issue. If you want to ride the wind, then head to Kingfisher, the only resort in Ilocos that offers kite surfing.

Enjoy the Pagudpud photos…

Eugene on Board

Ivon and I chilled out and took photos of Ericke, Euge and Brandon while being taught by Jed and Sherwin the basics of surfing. Having surfed on and off from the time the dad brought her to pro surfer Luke Landrigan in San Juan (La Union) when she was preteen to the present, Ericke is naturally drawn to the waves.

We have a mutual love for the ocean, but no one among us has ever kite surfed. Controlling the board and the kite must be demanding. Anyhoo, the rustic appeal of Kingfisher will make you want to stay around longer.

Ultimately, the most essential rule at the beach is to love the beach.
