Promenading in the Park

Our itchy feet brought us to Aurora Park. Little did I know that it was the last day of the Minuyongan ken Partuat trade fair and garden show organized by the Department of Trade and Industry-Ilocos Region Office. Occupying the park was a showcase of products under the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program of the national government. Among the merchandise were Adams Wines, Pagudpud shell crafts, Sarrat binakol inabel products, Sto. Domingo Malunggay Canton Noodles, silk cocoon flowers and bamboo crafts from La Paz and Bangued, Abra, and plants, shrubs and landscaping materials from La Union and Baguio.

Alexa spotted a bamboo lunch box and asked if she could have it. It’s cute alright. I guess it was the last piece. The lady from Abra’s F. Barcena’s Bamboocraft gladly gave it at a discounted price. I read somewhere that bamboo planting is big in Abra which is a good thing because it is beneficial to the environment as well as the rural communities.

Restful Harmony…

Tucked in the outskirts of Vigan is a relaxing spot named Hidden Garden. Green thumbs as well as ordinary mortals like me and Alexa will love the cool and lovely outdoor rooms created by Mr. and Mrs. Francis Flores.

They craft clay pots and garden ornaments and grow and sell plants that are sure to make outdoor and indoor spaces in true contact with nature.
