I call Jhan Phillip Janree like the mom did when he was younger ‘coz he was born in January. He’s my godson, hahah, I was a teen godparent to him. They call him Phillip now, I guess it suits the architect paddler more. For a very long time, I haven’t given him angpao, that red envelope with happiness and good luck symbols, where you fill it with moolah. Wife Duch and sister Sam arranged a surprise party at Rufino’s for him. Happy birthday Janree! Love — Tita Tiny.
Phillip’s beautiful family.
Angpao, a Chinese tradition.
Rufino’s version of the poqui-poqui pizza.
With paddlers from the Philippine Titans Dragon Boat Team, affiliated with the Philippine Canoe Kayak Federation, who were visiting Ilocos.
Phillip’s mom and dad, the in-laws I’m closest to.
