All my birthdays are memorable, though simple, always with love ones. Saturday night was reserved for a pre-birthday dinner. I bought the wine and roses myself, asked good friend Chef Jackie de la Cruz to help me out with the menu… an offbeat something… there’s so much to celebrate in life — a loving family, independent-minded kids, beautiful friendships, strength — all I could ask for. Thank you, God!
I’m likewise grateful for all the people I’ve met through the blog, my regular readers, the awesome discoveries and wonderful opportunities that blogging has given me.
Extending my thanks to Chef Jack for the appetizing amuse-bouche that set the tone for the bouncy dinner consisting of cream of squash soup, rolled lasagna, steak and potatoes au gratin, and apple crumble; Ka-bloom for arranging my fresh pink roses and Kit and Ace Mandac of Ava’s Cakes for accommodating my sweet Tiffany box cake. The couple are currently styling an event in San Diego. Hahah, they can extend their vacay ‘coz their girls can give them a run for their money, don’t you think? And last, but not the least, my family who gave me breathing space to be with special girlfriends Ann, Me-Ann, Teenie and Marianne (Marla, Ona and the other Marianne were out of town).
Here’s to more years to come, Manang!!! Happy Birthday, Cheers!!!!
