At my Makeup Designory (MUD) class, we were taught to be more creative with colors, avoiding being stuck in rut. However, you won’t always have the luxury of time to play with different color mixes, so a no-brainer back-to-basics palette is still a girl’s most-coveted arsenal. I didn’t hesitate to buy a NYX Nude on Nude palette. Firstly because the price is very reasonable and the rest stems from fact that the colors in the palette maybe neutral, yet current. Not to mention a newly discovered respect for NYX cosmetics.
A lot of reviewers have compared NYX Nude on Nude with Urban Decay’s Naked. Love UD’s color range, but my skin apparently does not love some of the chemicals in their eye makeup. Pre-Naked, I remember buying 4 eye color singles in the palette when UD was a young brand, but never got to buy anything UD again.
It’s nice to know that NYX does not test on animals. I haven’t tried any of the 10 lipcolors, but among the 20 complementing eyeshadows, I’ve been wearing the taupes, golds, highlighters and the black (used as liner) the whole time during the hectic days earlier this week. The eye colors are velvety and pigmented, some are matte and some are shimmery, but do well, brighten up tired eyes. I find the applicators too short, and who wears sponge applicators these days?
Definitely, Nude on Nude is one of my most practical buys as of late. Wearing MAC Ruby Woo on the lips, I think the best red ever! No wonder it rates so high. It goes well with the neutral eye. Will post a separate feature soon.
