Look who just found a home at the Hypermart Laoag. A company-owned David’s Salon! Mark January 22nd on your calendar because Mr. David Charlton himself will be visiting the latest salon of the David Salons Group. I’m not promising, but you might catch either Miss Universe Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup or singer Angeline Quinto at the salon with David, according to my mole.
I’m neurotic when it comes to my hair. You know the Leo in me. In high school, I used to go to Rever at the Ali Mall. And then I followed Teng Roma at the Rever Mandarin Oriental until such a time that traveling to Manila only for a haircut became such a hassle. To cut the story short, it’s a good thing that London-trained Mr. David Charlton, who managed then owned the Rever Salons, established David’s Salons to cater to a wider market, with the same professional approach at more reasonable prices. The coolest thing about David’s, they are stretching out to the provinces. So the hair-obessesive-compulsive in me is a meek lion as of now. Yesterday, Ms. Yna touched up my do and gave it a subdued (Affinage) dark blonde with some ashy tones. Gela, the assistant, was gentle and nice. Believe me when I say the service is essentially indistinguishable from that of Rever’s. I recognized the David Charlton stamp right from when I was given a mini back massage while waiting for the stylist up to the present that my hair is perky and easier. Hope to be able to grow my hair a little longer like Anne Hathaway’s grown-out Fantine hair, now that I found a stylist who gets the point of girl “altar boy” hair:)
They use Orly products for mani/pedi. Love the Purple Velvet Ann used to color my nails. Other than the basic salon services, they offer make-up, threading, underarm waxing, Brazilian waxing, facial and foot reflexology.
The salon is on the fourth floor (on the eastern side) of what used to be the Ilocano Heroes Hall.
