Ararosip, a taste of the sea

Fresh, summerlike, revivyfying. Who could resist the scent of the sea? I had more than enough of this caviar-like seaweed, Caulerpa lentillifera, known as ararosip aka lato, which was served in one of my ecotourism meetings at the Burgos municipio. It was prepared with just juicy kappurus a kakamatisan (freshly-picked Ilocos tomatoes), though it’s also great with soy sauce and onions or vinegar dip.

Hmnn, suddenly beach dreaming.

It’s getting hotter everyday, yay, it’s almost summer!!

  1. i like pukpuklo better than ararosip.i do not like the little bubbles that it has in my mouth hehehe i like to pop them with my hands though like the packing bubbles…

    • heheh, packing bubbles, that was a fave hobby when i was a kid. we have different points of view, tita. i don’t like the slimy texture of pukpuklo, heheh.

  2. Ararosip or seagrapes (Caulerpa lentillifera, Umi-budo) as a special seaweed, it is very high nutrition. It’s very good for health, used as salad and also can combine with sushi. Seagrapes also used as natural comestic, very good for skin.
    In Vietnam, we have ararosip farm, we have fresh seagrapes, salted seagrapes, dried seagrapes even seagrape powder.
