The Philippine Food Culture #BAD11

I am proud to be taking part in Blog Action Day OCT 16 2011 www.blogactionday.orgToday is Blog Action Day and I just signed in to join bloggers from all over the world in posting about a common  topic. This year’s topic is FOOD since Blog Action Day coincides with World Food Day.

I live in the Philippines. The Filipino cuisine is as diverse as the cultural groups spread all over its 7,100 islands. If you ask me to name one food that symbolizes the Filipino food culture, I’d say, it’s the colorful Halo-Halo that best represents our multicultural cuisine. You might have heard about us eating worms, duck embryos, bugs and insects, and what not. Yes, we do. We also eat the other things the world eats like hamburgers, pizza, noodles, chocolates and popsicles. And RICE (our staple food).

Take a peek at the Philippines’ vibrant regional cuisines.
