Summer is beaching time! An important reminder before heading outdoors, slather on sunscreen with high UVB/UVA protection. Avoid frying in the sun, buy a shield with broad spectrum SPF, preferably SPF 70-100. Water-resistant sunblock with SPF 100, like the shine-free Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock Lotion SPF 100, provides 99 percent protection from the toxic effects of solar radiation.
Choose oil- and PABA-free products to prevent pore clogging that may trigger acne symptoms. For the more sensitive facial skin, good sunblocks, such as Obagi and Avène High Protection, are available at reputable dermatologic clinics. A low SPF 15 is enough for daily use, though.
Among the best budget-friendly to high-end sun product brands that I’ve tried and tested are Neutrogena, Nivea, Aveeno, Clarins, Mustela, Peter Thomas Roth, Galderma Helioblock and Avène. I spray on Babaria bronceador when I want to tan while being protected. Always apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going out in the sun. Reapply every 2-3 hours if you sweat excessively or you’re hitting the water.
Don’t forget to guard your lips, use tinted lipbalm with Sun Protection Factor.

After long hours under the sun, the skin deserves pampering with soothening after sun products. Nivea, Hawaiian Tropic, L’Occitane and Clarins offer excellent after sun care with nourishing natural ingredients, such as aloe vera and verbena.
Last tip, eat food rich in Vitamins A, C and E to keep skin protected in and out of the sun.
