Work in Sun Life brought Oracle database developer Francis and business analyst Charms closer to each other. After two years of friendship, the two became sweethearts on September 17, 2007. And on Easter Sunday in 2010, over barbecue at the East Coast Park in Singapore where the computer experts work, Francis proposed marriage to Charms.
Being both the eldest in their families and wanting not to bother their parents, Charms and Francis planned and saved up for their wedding, but still their mothers wanted to make things easier for the couple, so that they helped coordinate with the wedding planner, the designer, the florist, the make-up artist and all the very important people who played significant roles in making the intimate Rodriguez-Co wedding a very memorable event for the Rodriguez and Co families and their close friends. As the wedding date, 15th of January 2011, came closer, they had to make more frequent trips to the Philippines. Before New Year’s, they had a brief vacation in Laoag, where they shot video footage in Ilocos’ most breathtaking spots, like Kapurpurawan, Cape Bojeador and Patapat Viaduct. It’s wonderful to know that Francis, who grew up in Parañaque, also loves Ilocos, Charms’ hometown.
I arrived at The Shrine of Jesus in Pasay just in time and not missing the glowing bride and groom. The colors of the wedding were vibrant. Happy red was the dominant color, a great choice for the Chinoy wedding.
Pinky with talented Batac designer Loejai Lopez, who did the sweet strapless bridal dress and all the beautiful dresses for the wedding attendants and the mothers of the bride and groom. Shoes were custom-made by Lila Almario, and make-up was done by Peddy Acebo.
