Lounging at the Ayuyang Bar and Coffee Shop

Ericke, Brandon and I were at the Ilocos Norte Hotel and Convention Center the other day to check on the Basic Photography Workshop slated next weekend. Good to know that they’ve come up with reasonably priced breakfast and dinner buffets, and Mongolian barbeque dinner buffet on weekends. That night, the place was quite busy. There were guests lolling around the Ayuyang Bar and Coffee Shop and the pool area.

Before going to the hotel, we planned on getting an order of tiramisu just to try it out. I was pretty nervous when the two started ordering.

I checked out the buffet table, but I was looking forward to our tiramisu.

The cream puffs were inviting, though.

“Honest bread is very well – it’s the butter that makes the temptation.”

They gave us the usual complimentary dinner rolls.

Brandon’s Farfalle Carbonara with bowtie pasta. The taste was quite new, it was eggy like light torta, but good.

Ericke’s Linguine Genovese with pine nuts and olive oil. She liked its nutty flavor.

Our first tiramisu. We ended with two more orders. The mascarpone cheese (Italian three-cheese cream) on it was so good. Easily the best tiramisu I’ve had in Laoag ever. And the rhum was strong. Heaven! We had to share just one Toblerone drink with Bailey’s and Kahlua. It was still a long way home.

The cakes of the day. Maybe, some other time.
