Cape Bojeador: Tower of Power

Imposing, splendid, quaint, sturdy, eerie.

Built by the Spanish conquistadors in March 31, 1892, the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse served as a beacon to Spanish galleons passing through the darkness of the South China Sea. To this day, it still warns and guides vessels away from the treacherous rocky coasts of Burgos, a town at the northwestern part of Ilocos Norte.

Much has been said about this elegant and impressive structure; it remains to be one of the most visited heritage sites in the province, and the most photographed, as well. It is Pure Drama!

Like a lighthouse, I could sit all day just watching the ocean.
